Who is eligible?
- Full-year Arizona Resident
- Paid property taxes on main home in Arizona during 2024
- Owned home
- Rented home or apartment
- Member of condominium association
- Resided in nursing home in Arizona
- Total household income less than $3,751 if you lived alone.
($5,501 if others lived with you) - Income does NOT include Social Security or VA Benefits
- Taxpayer or Spouse is Age 65 or older by December 31st, 2024
OR receiving Title 16 Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Can I receive a Property Tax Credit if I live in subsidized housing?
- YES, as long as the housing is not exempt from paying property tax
- Credit is limited to unsubsidized portion of your rent.
What documents do I need to bring?
- For OWNERS, bring one of the following with proof of property taxes paid on it
– Mortgage Statement
– Property Tax ReceiptĀ (can be obtained by tax preparer)
– Cancelled checks - For RENTERS
– AZ Form 201 completed and signed by your Landlord - For CONDOMINIUM
– Statement showing your share of assessed property taxes - For NURSING HOME
– AZ Form 201 completed and signed by the nursing home administrator
If you are under Age 65, ALSO bring SSI statement from the Social Security Administraton
How can I claim a Property Tax Credit?
- File AZ Form PTC on or before April 15, 2025
- File an AZ extension on or before April 15, 2025, and file AZ Form PTC on or before October
15, 2025 - The Property Tax Credit CANNOT be claimed for prior years
How will I receive my Property Tax Credit?
- By direct deposit if you provide banking information (routing and account numbers)
- By check mailed to your home address
How much is the Property Tax Credit?
- The maximum Property Tax Credit you can receive is $502
- The credit amount is reduced based on total household income
- You will also receive an Excise Tax Credit of $25 per household member
(maximum $100 per household)
