Who qualifies for VITA? | Generally, low-to-moderate income families (less than $60,000 income), disabled, English as a Second Language (ESL), and elderly folks. |
What do I need to bring? | Photo ID, Social Security card for self, spouse & dependents, all income information, last years return, and anything else to complete the return. |
Who needs to be present? | If married couple: both spouses need to be present to e-file. |
Can this be completed in one day? | Yes. |
How long of a wait should I expect? | We hope that you will get in within your scheduled appointment time. |
Do we take appointments? | Yes. We will begin taking appointments the latter part of January. Most sites require an appointment, but the Vista del Camino site is walk-in only, and the SCC site will take walk-ins after appointments have been served. |
Are there any hidden costs? | No. |
When will services begin? | The last week of January or first week of February (depending on the site). |
Can you do all types of returns? | There are certain returns we cannot do. For example, we cannot do a Married Filing Separate return, business returns with a loss, or rental properties. |
Can you direct deposit my refund? | Yes. |
Can you do the AZ property tax credit? | Yes. If rented property, then AZ Form 201 from the landlord is required. |
Are the volunteers certified? | Yes, they are all certified by the IRS. |
Can the return be e-filed? | Generally yes, but there are certain exceptions. |
